A practical starting point
Every enquiry begins with the proposal, property or asset, the information already available, and the decision the client needs to make. That may be an early feasibility question, a structural concern, a design brief, an approval request or a need to understand existing conditions.
AHD discusses an engineering scope around that context rather than offering a one-size-fits-all outcome. The agreed scope, assumptions, available evidence and deliverables are clarified before engineering documentation is prepared.
Support across project stages
Civil and structural support can be relevant before work starts, while a proposal is being developed, when documentation is needed for an approval pathway, or when an existing building or structure needs assessment. The information required will vary with the site, proposed work, access and relevant authority process.
Engineering documentation supports the agreed technical question. Planning, building, environmental, construction, ownership and authority decisions remain with the appropriate parties, consultants and regulators.
Coordinate the information a project needs
Some projects need more than engineering documentation alone. Land-survey information can establish levels or boundaries; geotechnical investigation may be needed to understand ground conditions; and drafting can help communicate the agreed design.
AHD can coordinate these external specialist inputs where suitable. They are independently scoped services—not in-house surveying, geotechnical or drafting offerings—and the project team should confirm the appropriate specialist role for the actual proposal.
A clear path to an initial discussion
Useful starting material can include the project address, a description of the proposed work or concern, available photographs or drawings, dimensions or levels, and correspondence from a local government, building surveyor or other authority. It is fine if some information is not available yet.
AHD can then discuss whether the information is sufficient for an agreed next step, whether a site visit or another specialist input may be relevant, and what engineering support could be appropriately scoped.
